My Classroom Lesson:  “Geometric transformations.”

The topic of the lesson was geometric transformations. This topic was extremely interesting for students as they know number of examples of geometric transformation in their everyday lives. While learning about transformation of figures, students searched for other examples and uses of it. Students were assigned to create and deliver presentations on types and uses of transformation of figures. The assignment that the students found to be fun was carried out excellently. They enjoyed presenting transformation of figures with the use of graphs, which allowed me to assess their ability to do the same with the use of coordinates. Students’ presentations were very interesting and diverse in nature. They presented origamis created by them with the use of transformations. They drew symmetries, rotations and parallel transformations on the board and were introduced to a practical use of transformations in a fun way: They were assigned to a task to build a bridge in between two villages in location which would make the road the least lengthy. Thorough the lesson students showed an excellent performance, knowledge, developed skills and carried out planned activities, which is referring to the fact that the objective of the lesson has been achieved.
